Very thorough and thought provoking write. Your insight as to political meme coins and the power they hold in the future elections never crossed my mind before. Nicely done.

$trump is a good idea, but I don’t think Trump really realizes the effect of political memecoins. I feel that the key person who could make this shift might be Elon. He also has his own political memecoin, $pnut. Imagine if he created the America Party and announced $pnut as its mascot — that would be the craziest, funniest, yet most “Elon-style” path I can think of.

That said, it seems hard to tell right now whether Elon still wants to continue with his America Party plan. But I’d really love the reflexivity of $pnut. Let’s see.

Lead me to this.

Which, to me, seemed as difficult to read as it is probably to watch a person fellate Boba the Hutt.

First Trump is first given sole credit for his social media campaigning. Which probably refers to the notorious Cambridge Analytica scandal. His campaign team is not mentioned until later. This did not just seem like metonymy. This seemed like outright flattery via over-attribution.

Trump is never directly called senile, only Biden. There's a passing mention to “geezas” that /might/ be applicable to him, but it is intentionally vague and uses slang that even I am not sure of (geezas = geezers, I presume). Was the Trump/Biden debate similar to JFK/Nixon? Sure, but only in the confidence level. JFK seemed younger and more confident. But in my opinion, both Trump and Biden looked very much like old men. The difference was Trump looked confident (while spouting his rambling lies). Some people might equate that confidence with youth, but I suspect many might also equate that confidence to senility without a filter. Ignoring that a large percentage of people would recognize that both seemed very old is not typical of Hayes.

“People buy $TRUMP because they want to become a member of a group of Trump supporters or they believe Trump’s popularity will increase in the future. That’s it.”

Okay, that's bulls*** and he knows it. Otherwise the market cap of a token called BigTitsAndBeer would be through the roof. He constantly calls memecoins s***coins (he even uses the term in this article). He clearly ignores that some of the biggest bag holders, like another cex CEO who has/had legal troubles (to put it mildly), are clearly doing it for political favors.

(Well, maybe not technically CEO, but effectively CEO. Sun has effectively proven himself in control of Huobi via addresses he provided himself to a magazine because he wanted to be called rich by that same magazine more than he was worried about the legal ramifications. https://protos.com/justin-sun-sues-bloomberg/ This might show his egotism. But it also shows how brazen fraudsters feel they can act during the Trumpocracy. Of course Hayes isn't technically CEO of Bitmex either, not sure if he ever was. But do titles really matter with cex black boxes? When there is no accountability, all that matters is capability.)

“Given that real digital money is on the line, there is no point buying $TRUMP if you hate Trump or think he won’t rise in popularity. If that’s what you believe, you won’t buy it at all or will go short a $TRUMP/USDe perpetual swap. This is why the price direction of $TRUMP indicates his true global popularity.”

I can think of /lots/ of reasons you might hate Trump and go long on a perp (pun absolutely intended). Perfect example: Going long TRUMP while simultaneously going short MELANIA. Both are associated with the “brand” and the BS Hayes spouts here, so there shouldn't be any wild swings that could liquidate you for that reason, but only one is likely to get political favors. Even if this is a wrong thesis, it's a perfectly understandable one that might lead to going “long” on a token associated with someone you “hate.” And Hayes absolutely knows this.

“However, building a community of rabid supporters is much easier when everyone stands to benefit financially from political success.”

That is just idiotic. Are you on Welfare? Buy TRUMP and hope he gets elected! /s. There is not strong enough slash–s in the world for this. I mean, of course, the statement itself is idiotic. I don't think Hayes believes this for a second. Whether it is idiotic for him to sway a (possible) idiot at the expense of the respect of people like me, I am not sure. Maybe not an idiot, maybe just a “geeza,” I'll leave it to the reader if exploiting the narcissism of a geriatric autocrat constitutes elder abuse. Regardless, I don't think it was worth it.

“What if, in the UK, Keir Starmer was forced to call new elections because of a revamped conservative movement that didn’t want young girls getting groomed by creepy old men?”

Dude. What do you think Trump is!

This was my Snoop moment with Hayes. Both did questionable things in the past. Both went on to write (and perform in Snoop's case) some important, lasting stuff. Snoop's contributions to Ain't Nuttin But A G Thang and 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted are unmistakable. And, for Hayes, while certainly not as influential to the broader public, I have always been fond of “White Man” https://blog.bitmex.com/white-man/ and “White Boy” https://blog.bitmex.com/white-boy/ . Instead of a trifecta with a scathing takedown called “White Geeza,” in both Snoop and Hayes’ cases we see them “bow[ing] down in the presence of a boss player.” And for what? A favor for one of Snoop's friends in current legal trouble and a little cleaning up of Hayes’ old legal trouble? Neither of them personally have any current legal trouble. This isn't a gangsta party. This is plain ol’ Fugazi.
